THE FIRST ALBUM

Old Business

The album title says a lot. Old Business is a collection of tunes that have been a work in progress for over 20 years. Things finally came together to get these songs out of the dustbin and out into the light. It was somewhat of a cathartic process that just needed to be done.

We start off with an oldie but goodie, a Sly and the Family Stone cover, I Want to Take You Higher.

UPDATE: I Want To Take You Higher (Web Remix) has been added (it's at the bottom of the song list) and can only be heard here.

Then, a few originals;

Khandi Kane

Television (the Gem FM ode to the one-eyed monster)

Corporation Man

Dark Secrets

I Haven't Forgotten - words by Jim Freeman (father to James Freeman who wrote the music), a Vietnam War combat veteran. The song is dedicated to all who serve and the friends and family who support them.

El Toro Solitario is a cover of a song The Lonely Bull made popular by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

Man and Machine was remastered from the only known surviving cassette copy of the original. The vocoder used on the track belonged to Ronnie Montrose and was used without his permission, however, he did forgive me.

Who doesn't love a lively Devo tune? And Jerkin' Back 'N' Forth carries such a relevant message.

X 2 Z closes out the selections with an analog space groove. A harbinger of things to come?

If you have come this far, may you have found something that you enjoyed.

Peace and love to all!
